Dear simple Sophie leaves the old homestead to become a motion picture heroine With the last of her slender means she graduates from the Bunkem School of Dramatic Art. Fortified with a diploma Sophie presents herself at the studio of the Uneeda Feature Film Company. She displays her diploma to the erratic director of production and he laughs in her face and sends her home. Unfortunately for Sophie she made a hit with the manager and the leading man. Thus when the leading woman quit because she was not allowed to take a bath during working hours, Sophie was called up and given the position. The mistakes that Sophie made were many and grievous. The leading man made love to her between scenes and the director cursed her inexperience and discharged her. The general manager, however, refuses to let her go and poor Sophie is detained, little conscious of the troubles in store for her.
