简介：American screenwriter and author of short stories. Did his best work during the silent era in adapting such literary classics as Oscar Wilde's "Lady Windemere's Fan" (1925) to the screen. Usually worked in collaboration with others, rather than as a solo writer, on films for Warner Brothers (1928-31) and 20th Century-Fox (1936-39).
