Benning, Georgia, son to Henry Bazemore and Loretta Faye Bazemore, Henry Bazemore Jr.'s parents relocated to Flint, MI, taking advantage at that time of the growing automotive Industry. It was there that he grew up from humble beginnings. Remaining close to home, he attended the University of Michigan.
